Soccer and Baseball

Soccer is the most popular sport around the world while in the USA one of the most popular sports is baseball. If you want to choose the best and start to practice you have to know the differences between both. In baseball, there are nine players at each team. The players of one team are around the field. And they don’t move too much. In soccer, there are eleven players in each team. Both teams are on the field, and they are moving constantly. We can see differences in uniforms and equipment too. The baseball uniform is made from stretchy material, with pants and socks. While the soccer players use loose clothes like short and t- shirt and need special shoes. There is a lot more equipment for baseball than for soccer. In baseball they use a ball, bat, hat and gloves while in soccer they just need the ball. A baseball game can be longer or shorter, but it is has to complete nine innings with six outs each. Soccer is different. There are only two halves that last forty-five minutes each. Sometimes it is just extend a few more minutes for the time out. The final goal for both sports is to make more points that the rival team. In baseball you want to make runs whereas for soccer you need to make a goal. Fans are different too. There more passion in soccer fans. They always think know rules better that referee instead baseball fans are calmer. To play a sport is good for your health, but it is important to enjoy it too. Choose the best one for you and your body will thank you.

Reading is a great hobby. First, when you read you can increase your vocabulary. That means that you can speak correctly, and have a better knowledge about anything you want. Another reason is that it is a completely free activity that anyone can do. You can go to the park, and bring your book with you. You will be able to relax your mind and have better concentration. Also, many new things can be learned from books. You can get to know famous writers, and read their great novels. Sometimes, you can enter a fantasy world. For example, when you read a Disney book, you can enter into a magical place. I think almost every book has a fantasy in it that you can enter. If you read, you can have a better life and have better knowledge in life. So keep your brain exercising!

The Difficulties of being an Immigrant

There are many immigrants in the United States, but being an immigrant has many difficulties that you have to go through to survive in this country. The first difficulty is discrimination because not every one is going to accept you. For example, if you are looking for a job, maybe the manager is not going to hire you because you are an immigrant. Also, if you try to start school, maybe some teachers might think that you are not going to finish the school because you are immigrant, so you are not responsible. The next difficulty is that you might not know anybody in this country. For example, if you want to go to see a movie, you might not have anyone to go with. Another example is that if you get sick, you don’t have any person to ask for help or take care of you. Finally, you don’t feel comfortable because it is a different culture. For example, if you don’t speak English, you cannot communicate with other people and you are not going to feel comfortable going outside because you don’t speak the language. In addition, you don’t know the different rules that this country might have. For example, it’s important to know what you should not do when you are driving. However, if you don’t know this might cause you that the police give you a ticket, but it is not because you did something on purpose, it is because you don’t know the rules. In brief, being an immigrant always has difficulties, but you can handle these difficulties by adapting to this country.

The Importance of being Bilingual

Being a bilingual person is a very important tool these days. Everybody knows it is hard, but with practice everything is possible. I will give you some reasons why it is important to be bilingual. My first reason is that you can get a better job. This means earn more money as well work in a job that you like and obviously you will have more jobs to choose from with these skills. A second reason is that you can communicate with different kinds of people. For example, if you like to travel, it is easier to understand what people are saying. Also you can learn new things about new cultures. My third reason is that you can help people in your community. For instance if you live in Chicago and you speak English and Spanish, and somebody just came from Colombia, Ecuador, or an other country where they speak Spanish, you can help them get around the store, or maybe how to find a job. Another thing that you can do is teach them some basic words, so they can feel more comfortable. In conclusion, being bilingual could be very beneficial for yourself, you family and your community.
